We test before we replace
Electrical faults are easy to guess at and expensive to get wrong. We start with a full fault-code scan, then test the battery, the alternator’s charging output, the starter’s current draw and the voltage drop across the main cables and earths. For batteries that go flat overnight, we measure the current the car draws while it’s switched off and trace the circuit responsible. You get a clear explanation of what failed and why, and the repair is done on site wherever access and parts allow.
Mechanic or auto electrician?
Many faults sit across both trades — a no-start can be mechanical or electrical. BOSS 1 is an electro-mechanical business, so one visit covers both. Read do I need a mechanic or an auto electrician? for the full breakdown.
Why modern cars need an auto electrician
A modern car can have dozens of control modules talking to each other over a network of wires and sensors. When one sensor or connection fails, the symptoms can show up somewhere unexpected — a warning light, a window that won’t close, a battery that drains overnight. Finding the cause takes the right scan tools, wiring diagrams and patience, not guesswork. That’s the work auto electricians are trained for, and it’s why we test and trace before we recommend replacing anything.
Battery light on while driving?
That usually means the alternator isn’t charging. The car will run on the battery for a while, then stop. Head somewhere safe and call us.
Where we do it
We come to you anywhere across our 20 Western Sydney suburbs, including:
What does a mobile auto electrician do?
We diagnose and repair a car’s electrical systems where it’s parked: batteries, alternators, starter motors, wiring, lights, sensors and warning lights, plus programming where the car supports it.
Can you replace an alternator or starter motor on site?
In most cases, yes. It depends on access in the engine bay and parts availability for your model. We confirm this when you book.
Why does my battery keep going flat?
Usually a worn battery, an alternator that isn’t charging, or something drawing power with the car off. We test all three and trace any drain.
Do I need a mechanic or an auto electrician?
Mechanics fix mechanical parts like the engine and brakes; auto electricians fix electrical systems. We do both, so you don’t have to guess.
Do you program car modules?
Yes, where your vehicle supports it — for example registering a new battery or setting up a replaced module. Tell us your make and model when you book.
